This five foot arrangement by Yukiko is traditional for the buffet at Smith Ranch Homes.   Flowers, leaves, branches and fruits of the season: including anthuriums, roses, harakeke, berries, baby apples and lemons.

The client called on Saturday night and asked to arrange a custom sympathy design to be delivered in Marin on Sunday morning. Yukiko made this bouquet of roses, harakeke and Queen Anne’s Lace in a classic gathering vase. Its photo below was taken as it left the studio on Sunday morning.

This September bouquet gathers autumn colored roses with white phalaenopsis, green anthuriums and blue hydrangea in a tall design;   green equisetum (horsetails) emphasizes its height, and curly willow wraps the outside of the sturdy glass vase.  This varied arrangement expresses a fulsome presence.

The white phalaenopsis, off-center as it is, creates an eccentric touch to this robust and otherwise symmetrical design.
