Ikebana in November Colors
Every ikebana is different. The seasons change, leaves, flowers and branches blossom and fade away. So each ikebana is like a snapshot photograph in time. Cymbidium orchids and magnolia leaves mark today.

gains height from leucadendron and tropical leaves, while peach roses echo the orange Chinese Lanterns from below; curly willow and berries complete the design.
Rising Orchids – Memorial in White and Purple
White phalaenopsis with purple dendrobium arrangement was designed this morning for a memorial gathering at the Tiburon Peninsula Club this afternoon.
This is a variation on my earlier Rising Orchid arrangement in white and green. The dominant white in the original design was reflective of Japanese memorial colors. This design is more Westernized.
Ikebana – Conflicts in Space
Yukiko has created many more ikebana designs than there is space to show them on her website. This week we had to take down one strikingly beautiful ikebana to make space for the newest design. Here they are:
We Took Down This Picture…
Ikebana with Bamboo and Dogwood – seasonal supply of dogwood is presently difficult.
To Make Page Space Available for This Picture
Ikebana of Orchids in October – designed with green cymbidium with phalaenopsis accent.
To have a place for every unique ikebana design by Yukiko, we are expanding our Ikebana Gallery to include online resources from Flickr.
As we develop this approach we will keep you informed through this blog.
